6G and Future Wireless Systems

What are the benefits of using 6G and what strategies do we need to consider when launching the technologies? This Inter-Academy seminar brings leaders and academics from Sweden and the US to discuss the need of international collaboration. 

Resilient Digital Infrastructure

The overall goal of the project is to contribute to Sweden's digital infrastructure being able to measure up to the most advanced countries in the world in terms of capacity, quality and security. The project brings together different perspectives to come up with concrete and feasible proposals for action that strengthen the resilience of the digital infrastructure.

European life science competetiveness: Why IP is fundamental

On the occurrence of the EU presidency, we place the spotlight on suggested EU-legislations affecting IP-rights in the life science industry. With examples from the Swedish life science arena, we show the importance of IP-protection in the journey from academic research to products and therapies for patients.

NTA Digital

Within NTA Digital, digital learning materials are developed for the school development program Science and Technology for All (NTA), which is aimed at students and teachers from pre-school to year nine.

IVA believes in humanity’s capacity to contribute positively to society through the engineering and economic sciences. Our contribution includes producing reports, knowledge bases and policy proposals within the relevant areas. All our reports are reviewed by experts.

2025 Hans Werthén Scholars

Ten young researchers and students residing in Sweden have been awarded this year's scholarships from the Hans Werthén Foundation, for studies and research abroad. The scholarships are granted with the aim of giving young academics the opportunity to develop in other countries and return with new knowledge and experience that can benefit Sweden.

IVA's President: Some thoughts on Academic Freedom

It is the time of year when our sister academy, Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, announces the Nobel Prize winners, and as always, it is both inspiring and gratifying to see how the world turns its focus to science during Nobel Week. In an era when facts and science are being questioned at the highest levels, it feels perhaps more urgent than ever to celebrate science and the advances it brings to humanity.
